Children's Book Week - Peter Willis Design Work

To celebrate Children’s Book Week 2022, Mims House is featuring the books by Peter Willis.

ILLUSTRATORS DO OTHER ART WORK, TOO!

Books are only a part of British children's book illustrator Peter Willis’s art. With 30 years as a graphic designer, he creates advertising materials for a wide variety of companies.

Here’s some of Peter’s design work as a graphic designer. He does logos, billboards, magazines, advertisements, and more.

    And here’s a recent painting.

What is your favorite sport? Come back tomorrow to find out Peter’s favorite sport! (HINT: It’s NOT tennis.)

    ASK PETER WILLIS

Q: What is your favorite art tool? A paintbrush, a color of paint or a computer program?

You can’t have one without the other to be honest but there is nothing better than painting on a white sheet of paper - I find that very simple action electrifying every time I do it, I love it.

ACTIVITY: A White Sheet of Paper

Try Peter’s method! Take out a white sheet of paper and make a mark. Any mark, any color, any direction. Then add another to see where it takes you!
