SLEEPERS - COULD THERE BE AN ALIEN SLEEPER CELL ON EARTH?

COVER OF SLEEPERS

First alien contact! People from the remote planet Rison have arrived on Earth and have an urgent plea:

You only live on land; allow us to live in your oceans.

Their home planet Rison is about to implode; the Risonians are desperate. Will Earth open its heart and allow the aliens to share Earth?

Into this conflict steps Jake Rose, the test tube son of an Earth military man and the female ambassador of Rison.

After living with Dad on the moon base for years, he is sent to live with grandparents who live on Bainbridge Island, the island just off downtown Seattle.

Writing the Book - Sailing and Dreaming

I'm thrilled to be part of this May the Fourth celebration of YA Sci-Fi because I've always love the science fiction genre. Writing this book was a blast. My brother-in-law lives on Bainbridge Island, and when we visited, I soaked in the atmosphere and world. He has an ocean-going sailboat, so we sailed all over Puget Sound, watching whales, anchoring in remote harbors, and setting our faces to the wind.

One day, we kayaked and a harbor seal came to swim with us. It's loud breathing--huffing in and out--fascinated me.

I kept wondering: what's under Puget Sound? It's a huge, cold sound, deep in places, places which might easily hide secrets.

The story turned into a trilogy, The Blue Planets World series.
