2025-2026 Award Winning Titles

Mims House Book has received four major awards for books this year! These nonfiction children's books for elementary grades feature an unusual snail, a story about climate, and the Prezewalski's Horse coming back from the brink of extinction. 

Best STEM Book and Outstanding Science Trade Book

JEREMY, THE ENGLISH GARDEN SNAIL received both the Best STEM Book and the Outstanding Science Trade Book from the National Science Teaching Association and the Children's Book Council.

CLIMATE: How Wladimir Koppen Studied Weather and Drew the First Climate Maps was also named a Best STEM Book.

Eureka Nonfiction Honor Book

And, NOT EXTINCT: The Przewalski's Horse Returns from Extinct in the Wild was named a Eureka! Nonfiction Honor Book by the California Reading Association.
